I finally put out our video on “How to Organize Your RV.” I mean, we got back from the RV adventure over a year ago! This delay is a testament to how much a hate editing videos. In the past I’ve hired editors but during the pandemic Jeff and I decided to do it ourselves. Hahahaaa! I’m sure you had a similar experience with some personal (or professional) projects. Maybe haircuts? Oh, the things we did during the pandemic! AmIRight?
If you’d like a tour of the inside of our rig here it is:
There’s one glaring error in this video you may have overlooked: my family and dog are not in the RV with me as I’m filming. Keep that in mind because the space feels a lot different with more creatures mulling around in there being all grumpy and alive!
(Also, we sold the RV immediately upon our return home. This video was filmed in October 2020.)
When the Driskills aren’t living in an RV like a pack of crazies, we live in a beautiful, spacious home in Long Beach, California. This week it was featured in a Home Tour on the website Apartment Therapy (a popular home design and organizing site which you’ve never heard of unless you are really into those 2 things!)
It’s a thrill to be featured because it’s going to boost the internet rankings of Get Organized Already a lot—the cyber equivalent of having our small business written up in the newspaper.
Also, it’s really handy and fun to have a way to show those of you who’ve never been to my house what it looks like inside!
I’m not shy about my house. I keep all the windows open and let people stay here when we are away. It’s always neat and tidy because—hello!—tidying up is my hobby and my job. I do think it’s unfortunate how much credit people like me get for keeping a neat house. As if we can help it! It would be impossible for me (without being physically incapacitated) to let my house get messy. That is a physiological fact. My little brain doesn’t work right when things are out of place. It still works, but not right!
Please remember this backstory when you are looking at photos of my tidy house, or any other tidy house and you find yourself wishing you were as organized as someone else. We all have strengths in different areas. I’m terrible at outdoor gardening, planning trips, buying gifts, and sitting still for long periods of time. Ahem.
I list these weaknesses of mine to help you recognize and remember your own strengths and not get upset at your housekeeping skills when you see these photos!
