So much to do.
It's a good thing we are doers.
Jeff is re-wiring things, fixing broken latches, systems, and planning to reseal the roof.
Darla and I cleaned every nook and cranny inside.
Darla enjoyed taking down the tassels, alas the golden wall sconces in the bedroom have to stay for now.
We have seriously been working on this about 7-8 hours a day everyday since it rolled into our lives. So I don't have a lot of time to type. I'll just show you a few things.
Video filmed the moment when Jeff and Mark first drove up in front of our house.
Sure, Zane is laughing nervously here. But since that moment there have been tears and other to-be-expected teenage reactions.
All of us have (individually) had hours where we thought, THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA.
Darla and I spent the first day finding old treasures. It felt like we were clearing a mini-estate. (Darla's holding the remote control collection.)
Jeff removed 2, 50-pound television sets. (See the hole behind D's head) He's installing a flat screen TV there today. He also changed out those old light fixtures on the ceiling with LED lights.
He fixed the AC, put in a new bluetooth stereo. On and on.
In the medicine cabinet I found some pretty fancy toiletries.
Also found: 2 cans of sardines from 2008, barbeque sauce that expired in 2002, and SO MANY cough drops! They were melted into the floor, the drawers, and hiding under everything.
Mr Handy
Missing from this photo are the sparks FLYING before I could pick up my camera. He tore the dash apart and did some voodoo magic with the wires. What a freak!
We are planning to leave on Thursday or Friday of this week.
The eastern Sierras are familiar and beloved by (most of) us. So, we'll start there so at least we'll know where to buy things we've forgotten.
Today I'll be playing Tetris with kitchen supplies.
Tomorrow a deep clean of our real house for AirBnB guests.
Thanks for reading.
